MILLHOUSES REAP THE WHIRLWIND
CLUB ACHIEVES RECORD VICTORY.
The Darts team recorded their first away win of the season on Thursday night, hammering the Millhouses 7-1!
The Jailbird was up against an opponent who had been waiting at the bus stop outside, and despite blowing a lead of over 300, which caused Captain Paulo to have breathing difficulties, the Jailbird assured everyone that he was just being a ‘Showman’. The returning Magician performed some new tricks in a pivotal game and emerged victorious, and yes he was wearing shorts. Up next was D & D who had ditched the ‘Woody’ moniker and put in a strong performance, and it was 3-0 to the club.
The youth section of the Darts squad, recently be renamed ‘The Inbetweeners’, were performing well. Captain Paulo was hoping to maintain his unbeaten start to the season, and quite frankly his opponent threw caution to the wind, quite literally as one dart went through an open window. 4-0. With a solitary game needed to assure victory, Bulldog become embroiled in a grudge match with the Millhouses star player, with all kinds of name calling, and a loss to Bulldog. A steady hand was now needed, unfortunately that steady hand was Chukka, and in a high quality match, which could have gone either way, Chukka assured the win. The Pairs were played in a more jovial atmosphere than what we've been used to but there was a strong performance from The Brigadier, alongside D & D to make it 6-1 with the cherry on the cake being provided by Chris and Bulldog to complete a 7-1 Rout. The play was witnessed by hard core ulta Jim Harrison, who was kept busy signing autographs, one local enthused 'He's a legend in these parts' an allegation that Jimbo strongly refuted 'They've got that wrong....I'm a legend everywhere'. No argument there.
Next week, we have a bye week but Team Manager Chukka will be giving his thoughts on the season so far.
