Shark Alert

Friday night at Norton Country Club saw the launch of its very first Texas Hold’em
- and thankfully, it was finally something different from bingo!

Members swapped dabbers for poker chips as the room filled with laughter, friendly rivalry, and the occasional dramatic sigh when a “guaranteed winning hand” suddenly wasn’t so guaranteed after all. New friendships were made, old rivalries were reignited, and there was enough bluffing going on to rival an acting in Neighbours
After an evening of bold all-ins, questionable tactics, and suspiciously lucky river cards, the final standings were:
🥇 Steve Parkin – crowned Norton’s first Poker Champion
🥈 Lee Roberts – cool under pressure right to the end
🥉 Daniel Harrison-Buckley – already demanding a rematch
A huge thank you to everyone who joined in and made the night such a success. The atmosphere was brilliant, the banter was nonstop, and it’s safe to say poker night was a big hit. Plans are already underway for more tournaments in the future - although we can confirm there will be fewer sharks involved than in Sharknado, and no sharks were injured in this first tournament
