Wine & Cheese Tasting Evening a Great Success

Last Saturday evening the club hosted a fantastic Wine & Cheese Tasting Experience, with 40 members and guests joining us for a relaxed and enjoyable journey through six carefully selected wines from across Europe.

The evening began with a refreshing sparkling wine, setting the tone for the tasting and getting everyone into the spirit of the event. From there we moved through a range of wines including elegant rosé, crisp whites and smooth reds, finishing in style with a luxurious Rioja that rounded off the tasting beautifully.

Each wine was paired with a selection of fine cheeses, chosen to complement the flavours in the glass and highlight the character of each wine. As always with wine, everyone discovered their own favourites and there were plenty of lively discussions around the tables about aromas, flavours and which wines worked best with the cheeses.

At the end of the evening everyone voted for their favourite, and the clear winner of “Wine of the Night” was the Oliver Dubois Pinot Noir, a beautifully smooth and elegant red that proved a big hit with the room.

Thanks to the generosity of those attending, £150 was also raised for the club roof fund through a fun raffle, which was a great bonus on top of an already brilliant evening.

After the tasting the night continued with music and dancing, rounding off a thoroughly enjoyable social event at the club.

A big thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a success. Judging by the feedback, this certainly won’t be the last wine tasting evening at the club!
